Grandparents

In the Taiga Forest of Northern Mongolia, I was able to spend time with a Reindeer herding family. Ganbat and his wife, Purvee, had just become grandparents a few months earlier to my arrival. Here, they are dressing their grandson just after a nap so they can take him outside to play. The family really is a village when it comes to raising children. The community watches out and helps out with all the kids. While there are still a few hundred herders left in the community, many families are leaving to live in the city.
