Gray Jay, Gray Day
One of several gray jays on the summit of Mount Jackson this day perched on the dead branch of a coniferous tree. The background of this photo is the eastern slope of Crawford Notch, a few miles away. The yellow and red specks are birches and maples dotted around the coniferous forest that had begun to change color at this point in the fall (late September).
