13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
Great egrets and great blue herons are fishing and large Asiatic carp are jumping nearby.
The fishing is plentiful in the early morning hours at the Old Spillway on spring days when the water is high. Large Asiatic carp are jumping as the large birds are fishing.
