Green grasshopper on edge of water pan

I met this charming grasshopper by accident when I checked out the metal pan to see if it needed to be refilled with water for the wild birds. My husband had set a large rock inside the pan earlier for the birds to stand on when they drink water. I wasn't expecting to find a green grasshopper standing on the rim of the pan and at the time didn't have my camera until I rushed back in the house to retrieve it. I figured he might be long gone by the time I returned. As luck would have it he was still there as if waiting for me. Normally I see more brown grasshoppers that I do green. This was the first one that I ever caught on the edge of a water pan and he was not fearful of my presence.
