The Victoria Regia legend is very popular in Brasil.Diz the legend that the Moon was a god who was dating the most beautiful young Indian women in an Indian village , the warrior Naia , dreamed of the moon and could not wait for the day when the god would call her . A night when the moon was very beautiful, the girl came to the edge of a lake , saw the moon reflected in the waters . She threw herself on the lake towards the Moon and drowned .Touched by the situation, God Moon turned the girl into a star of the waters - Victoria regia . For this reason, the fragrant white flowers of this plant only open in the evening .
