Grey Glacier in Patagonia

A grueling 8-mile hike, followed by a boat ride in Lago Grey, took us close to Grey Glacier in Torres del Paine National Park. From a distance, the glacier looked like a bed of ice. But up close, we could appreciate its enormity and beauty at the same time. The minaret-like ice blocks with jagged edges in front of us were about 30 feet high. The glacier is 6km wide and 30m high in the back.
