In September 2018, I was invited to a wedding ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee by a wedding photographer acquaintance of mine. It was held in a beautiful old mansion. During the reception, I saw the groom’s father sitting on a red velvet settee in the hall. Suddenly, I was curious about the mixed emotions of joy and sorrow that the groom's father might have. I am a father of two sons. Someday, I will know exactly what he was feeling.
