An estimated 1.4 million livestock have died in Kenya in the final months of 2021, according to data gathered by the FAO. The Horn of Africa is current reaching the most dire succession of droughts since September 2020. The ancillary time and energy required to keep animals alive during periods of drought have taken a toll on the area’s remote communities.
