Gustavo building a stove - Llupa, Peru
The man in this image is named Gustavo. Over the summer, he taught me and 11 other students how to build stoves in a remote Peruvian town called Llupa. The town is situated at 12,000 feet above sea level in the Andes. The air in this home was full of concrete dust, with beams of light shining through the holes in the roof. There is a doorway to the right, out of frame, where the light is bouncing off of a woman's red jacket and shining across the room.
