This family served as hosts for my team of backpackers. The story behind this is one that is driven by sustainability. Our purpose as a backpacking team was to live in and amongst the Haitian people for the duration of our time in the country. This family will forever be a connection to the local community. As we plan to return to Haiti, it is their sustained presence that will allow our team to help facilitate effective community improvements. We depend on families like this to give voice to true needs in the local village.
