12th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Altered Images
Half Dome
I grew up near the Park and was showing my husband around for the first time. But as we got into the Park a wildfire broke and smoke filled the valley. It didn't make for great, crisp color photos but lent itself well to black and white.
