I was fortunate to visit Bwindi Forest in Uganda for a gorilla safari while on a trip in eastern Africa. Contrary to popular notions, gorillas aren’t all that dangerous to humans, provided the visit is conducted responsibly, with experienced guides. It’s amazing to stand in the wild near a troop of these animals, some of them quite large, surprisingly playful, and displaying sometimes shockingly-human mannerisms.
