Hard Labor
During a recent trip to Tibet, I observed that much of the heavy construction work was done by young women. This picture was taken at the site of the ancient Guge Kingdom where workers are restoring the 10th century palace and fortress. Women laborers are carrying rocks up a 300 foot cliff while male supervisors enjoy a smoke break.
