Hard Working Hands
Yi Lady shows her weathered-looking hands, giving the viewer a sense of the hardworking life she must have lived. The Yi (aka Lolo) people are an ethnic minority that number 26,000 in southern China. They mostly live in mountainous areas in Yunnan province and still retain ancient cultures and lifestyles, inheriting the traditions of preservation, singing, sacrifice, clothing, food and other traditions.
