Not unlike what's happened to many small rural communities. This structure, likely an old Standard gas station, used to service customers along a popular north-south route in Illinois - Illinois 121. With the creation of a new Interstate 151, connecting I-74 and I-55, many small communities along the way were adversely impacted.
