Hat Weavers

The town of Calkini is distinguished by its artisans weaving hats. These descendants of the Maya use the fibers of the henequen plant for their preparation. One of the aspects that they must take care of is the adequate temperature and humidity to be able to work the fiber, so they work in natural underground caves formed in the rocks.
