13th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Mobile
Hemis Monastery, Ladakh, India.
On a very clear day, the Hemis Monastery shined in brilliant opulence. Though it is sunny, it's quite cold as we are 13,000 feet above sea level. It is one of the most famous monasteries in Ladakh and the annual Kalachakra festival last year was attended by the Dalai Lama.
