Hermit Basin
This image is from the summit of the Hermit Basin in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, looking east towards the Wet Mountains and the Wet Mountain Valley. The rock outcrops on the right show the power of earth's faulting, putting the rock layers at near vertical, juxtaposed with the high altitude atmosphere, and the tranquility of the distant valley.
