Himba Woman Cooking

A young Himba woman is preparing dough for bread. The Himba are a nomadic people living in remote South Angola and northern Namibia. They occupy a southern land isolated by deserts and mountains from the rest of the country and have kept their ethnic individuality and culture in their seclusion. They have fashionable hairstyles made with a mix of ochre, fat, and herbs for the fragrance and decorated with goat hide and fur extensions. They spend hours on their appearance able attending to the morning chores.
