While recovering from backpacking in Cartagena, my new friend, Marco, and I decided it would be an experience worth embarking on to bus and hitchhike to Cabo De La Vela and Punta Gallinas, two of the most northern points of Colombia. Both are desolate and vast areas of Colombia where the desert meets the Caribbean Sea and are rather untouched by the majority of tourists. We happened to come across Ríohacha in the process and indulged on the unexpected experience.
