Hogweed

Hogweed is a terribly tenacious and poisonous plant that was brought from the Caucasus to Russia in about the 40s. Not only that, initially, the Soviet authorities mistakenly distributed hogweed as a useful plant and was planted by farmers in huge quantities, so later, the security forces began to spread conspiracy theories around it, allegedly this plant was brought by an American beekeeper to ruin Russian nature.
