Holi Festival inside the Shri Bankey Bihari Temple at Uttar Pradesh, India
Holi Festival inside the Banke Bihari Temple. One of the most famous temples in Vrindavan is Shri Bankey Bihari Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna. Here 'Banke' means bent and 'Bihari' refers to Vihari or enjoyer. The temple is dedicated to Bankey Bihari who is believed to be the combined form of Radha and Krishna. Bankey Bihari was originally worshipped at Nidhivan, Vrindavan. The Lord appeared in person with his divine consort and left back a black charming image before disappering. Now the curtain keeps the devotees to adore Lord for a long time and too much devotion and melting of love is prevented by this. Devotees in large numbers were seen at the temple with sweets and colors in their hands.
