Holocaust Memorial on the Freedom Trail

A view of one of the 22 glass panels from the interior of one of the towers of the New England Holocaust Memorial in Boston, MA. The etched numbers represent the serial numbers tattooed on the victims and this particular panel overlooks the Freedom Trail. The building in the background has its own historical significance. Although it currently houses the Union Oyster House, which is the oldest restaurant in Boston, in 1771 the second floor of the building housed Isaiah Thomas’ seditious newspaper, The Massachusetts Spy.
