14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
Homeless in south Korea

As one of the richest countries in the world, South Korea's homeless people were prevalent at Soul Station in Seoul. I am drawn to ones on the street who have fallen from family, jobs or having shelter. Homelessness and poverty is part of human drive to live on. I had friend who was nine years old and in the third grade. I watched him walked house to house in the morning until he arrive at my place ,asking for a scoop of rice. My mom always gave him a big scoop! When I saw my friend at my door steps, I was sad and lost for words. Words could not describe how I felt about poverty.
