"Homelessness in Dhaka: A Struggle for Shelter.
In Dhaka, approximately 15% of the population is homeless, with many being young migrants seeking employment. These individuals often sleep in makeshift locations like footpaths, overbridges, rickshaws, and vans. Homelessness poses significant challenges, including safety risks, limited access to basic services, employment barriers, and social stigma. The government and NGOs are working to provide shelters and support programs. Long-term solutions require affordable housing, job training, and addressing root causes like poverty and education gaps through collaborative efforts.
