18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest The American Experience

the color, shape & luster of the fish hook both pops & blends in with the fall leaves; the tangled fishing line mimics the brach & leaf stems--yet one is hard, the other soft; one gives back the earth from which it cane & the other breaks down into smaller & small fragments but never really goes back to the earth. In this image, non-people nature is still larger--I remove all garbage I photograph from the landscape when done.
