Sustainable travel is travel without the use of carbon emitting machines, carpooling to limit emissions, and using a bike, skateboard, or even a horse to get to your destination. During the second part of my volunteer trip in New Zealand we got to ride horses as part of the Adventure Tour. I found it very relaxing and even beneficial for our environment around us because rather than drive a car and increase our global footprint it's better to reduce the footprint through little actions as such. Little actions can summate to something bigger.
