Horses in the Sea

Horse Racing is the most important sport in Barbados, it started since 1845 and it was until 1905 that the "Barbados Turf Club" which regulates and promote the races was created. Every year the "Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup" takes place the first Saturday of March with horses and jockeys from many countries. That is the reason why the savannah garrison people take the horses into the sea, so they can make some exercise, heal wounds, be clean and stay fit, it helps them as a therapy as well until the date of the race.
