Hospital garden
Frosted glass is my best friend; I'm always drawn to surfaces that distort what's behind them - window panes reeded, fluted, ribbed, but frosted is my darling. This appeared in my life while I was waiting for blood tests at my local hospital. The glass on its own would be dull, but, thankfully, some forward-thinking landscape architect planted a Japanese maple (acer palmatum) bush just behind it. You walk into a drab waiting room and this tree will lift any despairing spirit. As it did mine
