Hummingbird Moth Straw

Hummingbird Moth in the flowers sipping all it can get. I stopped at the Railroad Museum in Limon, CO on the way home from our tarantula adventure. Needless to say, the museum was not the highlight of this adventure. It was an extremely HOT day in Colorado but we continued around the outer areas of the museum. There were about 10 Hummingbird moths on the flowers on the side of the building. I think we stayed photographing them for over 2 hours! I find these beautiful tiny moths fascinating! I had only seen a few in the past years in the mountains at higher elevations. Th sun was a bit harsh, but I managed to get a few good shots as I was learning their patterns. Just love ZOOM photography and getting the most detail closeup I can.
