This photo captured a friendly humpback whale that chose to breach mere feet from our 12 foot vessel on the ocean waters off Avila Beach, California. We were so in awe of the experience that thrill outweighed fear many times over. The size, power, grace and gentle nature of this beautiful whale was unforgettable. Being the only ship on the water that early in the day we felt blessed to have this private encounter.
