It was hunting day and we followed Sohan as he and his eagle set out on horseback through the Altai Mountians in search of rabbit and fox. It was the moment the eagle had been training for and a long awaited moment those of us on the migration were looking forward too. After over an hour of searching the winter landscape, the hunt was called off. There was no game to be hunted.
