On June 5 of 2022, Baycrest Foundation and 5,000+ riders came together for the first ever "Bike for Brain Health" fundraising event on the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) and Gardiner Expressway in downtown Toronto. Toronto's Mayor John Tory was the Honorary Chair for "Bike for Brain Health", and attended the event. The DVP and Gardiner Expressway in Toronto were closed from 2 am to 2 pm, while thousands of cyclists rode 25/50/75km to fundraise for brain research at Baycrest Health Sciences Centre. People came on their own, with a team of family and friends, or as a part of a corporate team, going the distance to support defeating dementia. A brilliant Spring day, and a once-in-a-year opportunity to ride on the iconic DVP and Gardiner while supporting a very worthy cause… All of these put a big smile on everyone’s face. The cyclists had a blast.
