My daughter was born five days before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Our "fifth day"—the day we left the hospital after an emergency intervention—coincided with the general offensive. Except for our first four days in the maternity ward, our life together has been entirely rhythmized by news from the front. Very quickly, a dull anxiety set in: fear for her future, and for that of all children growing up in the shadow of conflict. But also, I quickly realized that I will not be able to fully protect her, she is always ahead and she always takes her own decisions. So as a parent I have to accept my very limited power to change things globally, as painful as it is. These feelings gave place to the whole "I can't follow you" series
