You see, hiking is not that much of a popular activity here in Brazil. It's just not part of our culture. We're more into going to the beach and tanning/swimming, playing team sports such as soccer and volleyball... But when I did my exchange in California, I discovered the beauty of hiking. Teenagers, adults, everyone goes hiking. At first I didn't want to, I declined invitations because I found it weird; going into the woods with someone you barely know?! But soon as I got acquainted with some people, I decided to give it a try... Turns out I love hiking!
