A lone male bison methodically makes his way across Soda Butte Creek in the Lamar Valley area of Yellowstone National Park. I captured this image in the waning days of autumn this past October (2021). The fall foliage had recently passed its peak and the first snow of the season was in the forecast as this lone male bison chooses to leave the herd and strike-out on his own path across the chilly river.
