Ice and Fire
Muji crater, a dormant volcanic crater situated on the Pamir Mountains and alongside the ancient Silk Road in Xinjiang, is known as the “Shadowland of Ice and Fire.” Thousands of years ago, the crater would actively erupt, and merchants and visitors used to witness heavy smoke spraying over the surrounding white glacier. Today, the volcano is back to quiet; only the tranquil aqua can tell its old story of ice and fire.
