Ice Crystal Halo in Belmont, Vermont
The town of Belmont, Vermont in Mt. Holly is a quaint and beautiful place. In all of my travels, this little town has shown me some of the most vibrant, striking skies, including this ice crystal halo. My boyfriend and I were working on our tiny house that is located on the backside of Okemo mountain. The cloud activity had been pretty awesome that day, so we were lucky to notice this halo. Not only was it one of the most defined sun halos I have ever seen, but it was visible for nearly 45 minutes. At some points, it was so defined and clear that the halo spectrum was visible (which you can see ever so slightly in this image).
