Icelandic glacier with volcanic ash
A two hour hike through the mountains leads you to one of the largest and expansive glaciers in Southern Iceland that meets a small body of water where icebergs float as they break off during the summer months. The black soot coverings are volcanic ash from the 2010 eruption of Eyjafjallajökull.
