By the last day of our Icelandic road trip, we weren't convinced with the whole northern lights phenomenon. It had been full cloud cover for over two weeks and the sneak peek we received the night prior was nothing more than faint grey light pillars. We slowly learned to become content with the fact. Regardless, this trip had offered some of the most surreal and unspoiled landscapes I'd ever witnessed and my memory cards had reached full capacity. I hadn't checked any forecasts for the prevention of build-ups, so it's safe to say my expectations were non-existent. However, what was meant to be a sunset mission went from 0 to off the scale real quick.. The fluorescent green luminance shot across the sky like a brush stroke, and from there it turned into a kaleidoscope of psychedelic swirls. We were both sent straight into a hypnotic state, a perception shift like no other. Stuck in a trance of pure appreciation that quite frankly I never wanted to leave!
