Many birds display beautiful breeding plumage that I like to think of as their party attire. Such is the case for the California brown pelican, which I enjoy watching and photographing in the winter. This pelican was 'dressed to impress' and allowed me to sit nearby for a long time, during which I was able to create several images that captured its character.
