Imprisoned in my rings
The photo represents a Giraffe Woman of Burma, that is part of an ethnic group belonging to the mountainous region of Myanmar. The term “giraffe” is often used to describe women due to the cultural tradition of wearing copper rings around their neck. This practice has ancient origins and seems to have symbolic, cultural and social status purposes.
