20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
In sync

The American Flamingo had pretty much vanished from our wet lands (Trinidad and Tobago), until a little over ten years ago there were sightings of small groups of four. They didn't last long as rumours went around of them being poached. That didn't stop them from South America, and over time they have mad here home. Hundreds can now be seen in the wet land areas, feeding close to human activity.
