These black-necked stilts were feeding in a shallow marsh by the San Francisco Bay. I had arrived at dawn and there was nobody else around. This image captures just how peaceful everything felt, as if the stilts didn't have a care in the world. I particularly like how the stilts arranged themselves, and the minimalist feel of the overall scene, punctuated by the pink legs.
