Inside the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, you will always find a priest or church elder standing guard over priceless relics. While visiting one of these centuries-old churches, I stopped in my tracks at the contrast of a priest sitting in the corner and a huge painting of Jesus Christ. It captured the spirit of Lalibela in a single frame.
