Intag Cloudscape Breath

During the rainy season in this part of northwestern Ecuador mornings is the time when clouds play with the forest. The condensation of moisture from the lowlands turn to fog and clouds at these elevations, and that extra moisture is what makes these forest some of the lushest on the planet. I make it a point on most mornings to be ready to photograph the cloud-forest interplay, which am lucky enough to do since it all happens very close to my home. Unfortunately, the forests in the image, as well as most forests in Western Ecuador, are threatened by mining projects.
