Intercultural Indian Woman
The INTERCULTURAL series is inspired by racially charged experiences, honor of ancestral lineage and the unification of a global community. In 1891 my great-great grandmother a girl six years was kidnapped from India. A British officer lured her onto his ship with candy. Once on board she was taken to a shipping create and sailed to Fiji where she continued life as a slave. Indian Woman wears a red sari, a color of celebration and traditionally worn on a bride’s wedding day.
