16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest People
Intercultural Mexican Woman

Mankind has evolved to visually interpret their environment. When the color of my skin presents an unfamiliar reference inevitably a barrier of discriminative notions are formed. In honor diversity and the initiation of respect to all humanity I portrayed Mexican Woman. She wears a red flower tucked behind her right ear to signify she is committed in a relationship.
