Into Prayers
Hindu devotees are seen performing ritual known as Tarpan at the bank of the River Ganges on Mahalaya. Mahalaya marks the start of the Durga Puja festival, it is belief that on this day Goddess Durga descends on Earth. On this day Hindus pay homage to their ancestors. Tarpan is an important ritual where ancestors are gratified and freed from unfulfilled desires so that they can complete their journey to the heavenly adobe with peace, satisfaction and happiness.
