Heading home we hit Blue Mesa Reservoir outside Gunnison CO just as an early snowstorm was coming in from the west. At the upper end of the reservoir, lowered by a prolonged and serious drought, the basin where the old town of Iola emerged. The re-emergence of the town-site coupled with the foreboding storm was impressive to witness.
